Training Career (in brief)
February 2007 to present- Manager of Discourse English Services.
April 2002 -December 2007. Freelance English language trainer for various language schools in Cologne, including Carl Duisberg Centren Köln (C.D.C.), Context and E.T.C.
November 2007 -December 2008. Certified examiner for the speaking and writing modules of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
May 2001 - April 2002. English language trainer for NOVA Language schools, Tokyo, Japan.
Training Experience:
• Designing, implementing and performing administration for company language courses.
• Assessing candidates’ oral and written performance for IELTS.
• Train the trainer workshop for the CDC, Köln; “Language testing for trainers”.
• Rewriting and aligning the CDC level system with the Common European Framework.
• Performing a „senior trainer“ role at CDC. Responsibilities included; inducting new trainers, teacher training and teacher evaluation. This role also involved liaison with Human Resource departments to ensure smooth delivery of courses.
• Syllabus design after consultation with stakeholders, and needs analysis of the students.
• The writing of individual student assessments and progress reports for Human Resource departments.
• Conducting preparation courses for IELTS and Cambridge Business English Certificates (BEC).
• One to one/ group classes with levels from complete beginner to advanced.
• Teaching involving both individual and “team teaching” approaches.
• Several thousand hours spent in classrooms at a diverse range of companies.
